Update June 16th 2010

The clock is ticking and time is of the essence in staying current with the decisions that are being made regarding these Dam Proposals. This weekend representatives from Idaho Rivers United and The Sierra Club are taking VIP'S around to the proposed dam sites. I am posting an email I received from Liz Paul from Idaho Rivers United with some current information and meeting times for those interested in attending.

If you have heard anymore information or have some valuable links that you could share....please post it here so we can have as much information as possible to share and stay knowledgeable on the current events.

Please do not sit on the sidelines....Voice your opinion! Get Involved!

Welcome!

Welcome to "No New Dams In Boise County" Blog!

I am a long time resident of Wilderness Ranch and Boise County. I recently became aware of the situation regarding the 12 new dam proposal sites which the Army Civil Core of Eingineers and the Idaho Department of Water Resources are presently working on. I felt that we needed to have a place that we could all come to and post any information that may be used to keep us better informed regarding this situation. I am hoping that everyone possibly affected by this will join this blog and post their concerns, opinions and any information that can be shared to keep us as up to date as possible.

I was shocked to hear of this news as I am sure alot of you were and the fact that this has been in the works since 1995 and we just now are finding out about it makes me very angry as a homeowner and resident of Boise County. Homes from Robie Creek all the way up to Idaho City could be affected and we need to stand together to fight this. The value of our homes, our love for this wonderful area that we live in, the magnificent wildlife, and our whole way of life is being threatened and we must stand up and make our voices heard!

So please pass this address to anyone you know that would like to stay informed and please post any news whenever something is available!

Regards,
Marcie
